The Tribal Council is responsible for governance and oversight within the San Lucy District. Their duties include making policy decisions, managing community resources, and overseeing the implementation of programs and services that benefit the community. They also work to preserve the cultural heritage of the Tohono O'odham Nation.

Community members are encouraged to participate in council meetings which are typically open to the public. Details on how to attend, either in person or virtually, are available on our website. Community members can voice their opinions and provide feedback at open public meetings. 

The Tribal Council is currently focusing on several key initiatives, including improving educational programs, expanding healthcare services, and enhancing economic development through sustainable housing projects. Efforts to strengthen cultural programs and support for the elderly are also prioritized.

Council members are elected by the members of the San Lucy District through a democratic voting process. Each council member serves a term specified in our community's constitution, typically four years. All eligible voters in the community can participate in these elections.
