San Lucy District provide executive leadership for all district programs and support services. They are responsible for overseeing the implementation and execution of all district policies and procedures. These roles ensure that the district’s operations align with the goals of the Tohono O’odham Nation and that all services provided to the community are administered effectively. The leadership also plays a key role in representing the district in broader tribal governance and in maintaining the cultural and economic well-being of the San Lucy community.

These questions help clarify the function and accessibility of the executive offices, fostering a transparent and informed community engagement.

The district chair-person and vice-chairperson shall have the authority to preside over formal, special, emergency, committee in-session, virtual, and closed sessions of the San Lucy District Council. 

  • Oversee the administration and management. 
  • Exercise veto power over enactments. 
  • Oversee the implementation of all resolutions. 

Executive officers are elected by the members of the San Lucy District through a democratic voting process. Each executive officer serves a term specified in our community's constitution, typically four years. All eligible voters in the community can participate in these elections. The council secretary is an appointed position by the council for a two year term. The administration manager and executive clerk are full time staffed position under the administration department.  

The executive office of the San Lucy District is focused on preserving cultural heritage, promoting sustainable economic development, and enhancing community health. They are also committed to improving infrastructure and ensuring effective governance. These strategic goals are designed to drive the community forward while maintaining the district's cultural identity and sustainability​.
